Bill Dohle grew up in Albuquerque and served with the USAF for 27 years as an Avionics Repairman. He worked on the F-111, the F-4, the F-5, the F-15, and the F-16. Bill also worked on the Hill Aerospace Museum’s C-124 Globemaster, and started volunteering because he enjoyed being here so much. His favorite thing about volunteering is meeting people, especially kids. When he’s not volunteering, he enjoys hiking and building model airplanes.
Pat Gilmore came from a military family and served with the USAF for 21 years as a C-141A/B Starlifter pilot. He has been with the Hill Aerospace Museum since 1997. Pat enjoys talking to veterans who come to the Museum to see their airplanes. He also enjoys seeing the reaction of kids walking into the Museum for the first time. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to Civil War battlefields and doing genealogy. Thanks for your service Pat!
Dennis Jacobs was an Airborne Radar Operator and a Crew Chief in the USAF. He started volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum because he has always loved aircraft, and because he loves helping others learn about them. In his spare time, he enjoys driving his 1973 Triumph TR6, going for 5 mile walks, and cycling. Thanks for your service Dennis!
Joe Maschi grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He joined the Air Force at 15, but stayed in only 5 months. (He decided to finish high school first.) Joe later became an aviation instructor and a commercial pilot. He has also flown 60 loops in a Cesna in 1 hour. When Joe volunteers, he enjoys swapping stories with the other volunteers he works with. In his spare time, Joe enjoys watching TV, flying radio controlled air planes, and driving to the mountains. Thanks for all you do Joe!
Gary Thornley grew up in Ogden, Utah. He learned to play the trumpet at a young age and still plays in the Ogden Concert Band today. Gary served with the Air National Guard for 9 years and flew L-19s. He started volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum because he has always loved aircraft, and because he loves meeting people from all over the world. In his spare time, he loves reading, going to the symphony, and writing his personal history. Thanks for all you do Gary!
Floyd Landon is from Washington state. He served active duty in the USAF as a Crew Chief on the B-47 and the B-52. He was also a Crew Chief on the F-16 in the Reserves at the 419th at Hill AFB. He came to volunteer at the Hill Aerospace Museum because he wanted to give back for all the Air Force has given to him throughout his life. He enjoys meeting and greeting visitors at the Museum. When Floyd is not volunteering at the Museum, he enjoys following the Seattle Seahawks. He also volunteers with the Kaysville Fire Department as a Juvenile Fire Counselor. Phil Butler is from New Jersey. He joined the US Marine Corps Reserve as a Radio Operator for a light armored reconnaissance company, and served during Operation Desert Storm. He then joined the Utah Air National Guard, where He currently serves as a full-time Intelligence Officer. Phil started volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum because he wanted to help tell the USAF story. He loves sharing stories of the people who built and flew aircraft with visitors. In his spare time, Phil enjoys building model airplanes and reading. Thanks for your service Phil!
Ed Anderson is originally from California and has lived all over the world. He served with the USAF and Air Force Reserves for 10 years. He also served in the Air National Guard for 20 years as Engine Mechanic, then as a Crew Chief. He started volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum to stay busy when he retired. His favorite thing about volunteering is is meeting people and talking to others who "speak his language". When he's not volunteering, he enjoys spending time with his grandkids when them come to Utah. Thanks for your service Ed!
Lynn Walker served in the USAF for 20 years as a loadmaster, an aerial observer, and a fire control operator. He retired as a First Sergeant. He served three tours in Vietnam, including the evacuation of Saigon in 1975. Lynn started volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum so he could use his prior military experience to benefit visitors. He enjoys helping the public understand that USAF aircraft help us preserve our freedom. In his spare time, Lynn enjoys tutoring elementary school children, as well as gardening. Dennis Hansen served with the National Guard for 8 years as FDC (Fire Direction Control), training on the 105 Howitzer. He then served in the Air Force Reserve for 25 years. He worked on the F-4 and the F-16 in avionics and as an aircraft electrician. Dennis started volunteering with the Hill Aerospace Museum because he loves USAF history and enjoys seeing the aircraft he used to work on. His favorite part about volunteering is meeting visitors and getting to answer their questions. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys gardening and spending time with family.
